How one restaurant reduced operational losses using ScreenCloud digital signage.
Mamuśka! is a fast-casual Polish restaurant and bar that’s on a mission to introduce Polish food to the mass UK market, with authentic food, drinks and even Polish entertainment. The key to the experience at Mamuśka! is price point, self service, authenticity and a vibe that makes customers feel very much at home, regardless of their particular background. You won’t find staff over at the table every five minutes here. Instead, food is ordered at the bar and served up at the kitchen pass for customers to collect when their number is called, allowing them to sit back, relax and dine in their own dining space, with or without a group of friends.
Below we speak to Ian Coll, Founder and MD, on the digital signage strategy behind Mamuśka!.
We were using a free, basic, yet tedious web based signage application in the restaurant originally. When the opportunity came along to trial a beta version of the ScreenCloud product we first did it because we thought “anything will be better than this” but we are still using ScreenCloud today and are looking at rolling in more screens, due to the ease at which non-techie staff can update and post content.
Mamuśka! uses ScreenCloud across its entire screen network, which includes digital menu boards in our sister deli across the road (Mój Sklep, or ‘My Shop’). Here, we are running ScreenCloud from Amazon Fire TV sticks connected to 40” and 50” screens. In the main Mamuśka! restaurant and bar location, we are using two Sony Smart Ultra-HD 49” screens and a 24” Display with an Amazon Fire TV stick.
Most of our content creation was being done in-house with photos from our menus, beer advertisements from YouTube and other third party supplier content helping to power our screens. However, since we’ve expanded our social media marketing we have started to direct highlights from these social media and online review channels to help make better use of a number of the super ‘linking’ apps available in the ScreenCloud App Store.
ScreenCloud has allowed us to instantly display photos of our delicious food, post information on upcoming events, promote special products and even to help push short-dated unpasteurised beer, thereby bridging the gap between promotion, sales and operations, resulting in reduced losses. All of this has been achieved with ease because our front of house staff can access and post themselves, without having to go through the IT Geeks! Using ScreenCloud we have saved time and money, have livened up the whole brand experience and are achieving very effective results all around. We can’t wait for the next developments coming down the line with this fantastic product.
