ScreenCloud Calendar for Google App Guide

Please note, if you're using the older version of ScreenCloud (signage.screencloud.com) you can download the alternative Calendar for Google app guide here.

The ScreenCloud Calendar for Google app makes it easy to share events logged to your Google calendar on your digital signage screens. Share any calendar connected to your Google account, choose your selected view, and allow the screen to populate with new events as you add them. The app makes it easy to showcase the events occurring in your store, office, team or business.

With the ScreenCloud Calendar for Google app you can:

  • Share any Google Calendar
  • Choose from a day, week or month view, or upcoming events
  • Easily add and adjust events as they come up

Here’s how it works:

1. Select and install ScreenCloud’s Calendar for Google app

1.1. Simply log into your ScreenCloud account and head over to our App Store using the left-hand menu.

2.1. On the next page, you’ll see a settings panel. Select Login and choose the Google account you wish to share a calendar from. Then select Allow to give ScreenCloud permission to pull through your calendar. Once you’ve logged in, you’ll see a list of the calendars associated with that Google account. Choose the calendars you want to display and click OK. You’ll see a green checkmark in the login button after you’ve completed this process successfully.

  • Instance Name: Give your Calendar for Google app instance a name (we called it Upcoming events here, for example) to help you spot it later if you’re adding more than one calendar.
  • View: Here you can choose between showing the entire month, a specific day, week, or just the upcoming events.
  • Language: This gives you the ability to translate the day and month into a language of your choice. Options include English, French, Dutch, German and Spanish.
  • Start my Calendar on (English only): This allows you to select whether to start your calendar on a Sunday or Monday. Please note this is only available when the language is set to English.
  • Events color scheme: This enables you to change the color of your events to Google's default color and predefined colors such as blue, yellow, red, white, purple and green.
  • Font Size: We have now added the ability for you to choose between a Regular or Large font size.
  • Number of events (Upcoming-view only): Choose how many events to show on the screen at any one time.
  • Number of months (Month-view only): Choose up to a maximum of 6 months to display on a screen at any one time. This option will display progress bars if you have multiple months set, in which the app will automatically transition from month-to-month to show events.
  • Speed the months will change (Month-view only): You can control the speed the months will change to show events if you have the app set to show multiple upcoming months.

3. Preview your results

Once you’re happy with your settings and your Google account has been linked, click Preview to check that you’re happy with how the events are shown. Then hit Save to create a new instance of the Calendar for Google app.
