ScreenCloud ESPN App Guide
How to get the latest sports headlines on your digital screens.
The ScreenCloud ESPN app makes it easy to share up-to-the-minute sports coverage with your audience by showing the latest fixtures, coverage and scores on your digital screens. Including access to scores, highlights and commentary for NFL, MLB, NBA, College Football, NCAA Basketball and more. This keeps your sports fan customers engaged and watching your screens for longer.
With the ScreenCloud ESPN app you can:
- Choose from a variety of sports news from source such as NFL and NBA
- See the latest sports headlines and commentary update in real time
- Customize the headlines in your brand colors
Here’s how it works:
1. Select and install ScreenCloud’s ESPN app
To begin, follow this link and select “Install this app” in the bottom right-hand corner. This will log you in to your ScreenCloud account, or prompt you to set up our free trial in order to use the ESPN app and others within our App Store.
Once logged in, select “Add this app” from the top right-hand corner.
2. Choose which sports news headlines to show
Next, you will need to determine which sport you want to show (for example, NFL, NBA or College Football) and which type of headlines to show. Choose your preferred news from the dropdown list.
3. Choose your theme
With ESPN app you can choose which theme to use to display the headlines on your digital screens.
The preset options include the default theme which is ESPN branded:
A dark theme:
A light theme:
You can also create a custom theme made up entirely of your company branding or chosen colors. For example, here is the app branded with our ScreenCloud colors:
To create a custom theme, check out our guide on how to use the App Theme Editor. Once you’ve set up a custom theme you will see this in the theme dropdown within the ESPN app settings.
You can also set the duration of seconds that each headline will show for within your display before it moves onto the next one.
4. Preview your results
To check you’re happy with the sports headlines that will be shown, click “Preview App” and a small pop-up will show what your app will look like on your digital screen:
To make any further changes or to test a new type of headlines or sporting news, you can simply click “Close Preview.”
If you are happy with your preview, click “Add App.”
5. Add ESPN app to a playlist
Once you’ve chosen to “Add App,” you can give your sports headlines display a name. This will make it easy to find if you use more than one set of sports headlines within your display.
Next, go to “Playlists” and drag and drop the app from the selection bar on the right-hand side, to the playlist of your choosing.
Frequently asked questions:
Can I add more than one set of headlines to my display?
Yes, you can add as many sets of ESPN headlines to your playlists as you like. Simply repeat the process, choosing which headlines you would like for each. Just ensure that you name each set with something different so you can easily spot them in your content library later on.
How often does the app update with new headlines?
ESPN is syndicated by RSS so new headlines appear as they are added by ESPN.
Can I use ESPN in portrait mode?
Yes, ESPN app is compatible with both portrait and landscape screens.
