The ScreenCloud Dropbox Gallery app makes it easy to connect Dropbox to your digital screens to easily share image folders that update as new photos are added. This allows you to create digital image galleries without needing to upload images individually, or to re-do galleries as new images become available. When you update your Dropbox folder, the new images will automatically be added to your digital screen. This allows you to share any images you like within an office, restaurant, store or reception and ensures your galleries update automatically.
With the ScreenCloud Dropbox Gallery app you can:
Here’s how it works:
To begin, follow this link and select “Install this app” in the bottom right-hand corner. This will log you in to your ScreenCloud account, or prompt you to set up our free trial in order to use the Dropbox Gallery app and others within our App Store.
Once logged in, select “Add this app” from the top right-hand corner.
Select “login” to authenticate ScreenCloud to access your Dropbox account and folders. Then log in to your Dropbox account or select “Allow” on the screen below.
Once you have allowed access to your Dropbox account you will see a list of image folders. To choose a subfolder, click on each folder’s name until you reach the selected folder.
Once you have chosen your image folder you will see a green checkmark next to the login button. Next, select your Dropbox app settings such as the image animation transition, the time per image and whether the image should fill fullscreen. You can also choose to “shuffle” the images or play them in the order they are uploaded.
Once you have chosen your Dropbox Gallery app settings, you have the opportunity to preview it before it’s added to a playlist. This helps you to determine what your image gallery will look like and the length between images.
Click “Preview App” and a small pop-up will show the image gallery as it will look on your digital screen.
Once you’re happy with your Dropbox gallery and images, you can add it to one of your digital signage playlists.
Select “Add App” and choose a name for your image gallery (for example, “Dropbox - Company images”). This will help you to spot it later if you’re adding more than one gallery to your feed.
Next, go to “Playlists” and drag and drop your Dropbox Gallery app from the app selection bar on the right-hand side to the playlist of your choosing.
How long will the Dropbox Gallery app show for?
The Dropbox Gallery app will show for a predetermined amount of time depending on how many images there are in the chosen folder and how long a duration you have set for each image. For example, if there are 10 images in the selected folder and each image is set to show for 6 seconds, you will have a one-minute feed.
This can be edited by going to the app settings and changing the time duration of each image.
How often does Dropbox Gallery app look for new images?
Dropbox Gallery app looks for new images every seven minutes.
